Things You Will Learn

Punches
JAB
What it is:
A quick, straight punch thrown with the lead hand. It is used to measure distance, set up combinations, and keep an opponent at bay.
CROSS
What it is:
A powerful, straight punch thrown with the rear hand. It's used as a knockout punch that generates power from the entire body.
HOOK
What it is:
A powerful punch delivered in a curved motion, targeting the opponent’s head or body. A knockout strike from the side, often after a jab or cross.

Kicks
FRONT KICK
What it is:
A push-style kick using the ball of the foot to create space or strike the opponent. It controls distance and disrupts an opponent’s balance.
ROUNDHOUSE KICK
What it is:
A powerful, swinging kick that uses the shin or foot to strike the opponent. It's a strong offensive kick aimed at the legs, body, or head.
SIDE KICK
What it is:
A kick delivered sideways with the heel or edge of the foot. It's used for pushing an opponent away or targeting the ribs, chest, or head.

Blocking
HIGH GUARD BLOCK
What it is:
A defensive position that protects the head and face from punches and high kicks. It absorbs and deflects the attacks.
LOW BLOCK
What it is:
A defensive maneuver to block kicks aimed at the legs or midsection. Protects against low kicks that target the thighs, knees, or ribs.
PARRY
What it is:
A small, deflecting movement used to redirect an opponent’s punch away from its target. Helps avoid direct impact while creating an opening for a counterattack.
